Position Title: Community Engagement Strategist/Specialist II

External Description:

You will be an important part of our Sims Community team. You will help build community-minded strategies, monitor the community’s response to important moments, and directly engage with Simmers around the world. 

Responsibilities:

Direct Player Engagement: Engage with players on platforms like Discord and Twitch, moderate community discussions

  • You will work with forum moderations (community volunteers and vendors) to encourage healthy interactions and sentiment 
  • You will stay informed of what information can be shared externally 

Community Insights & Sentiment Reporting: Share back findings, trends, and insights from the community with relevant partners

  • You will analyze community data using sentiment analysis tools
  • You will distinguish between positive, negative, and neutral topics
  • You will help build actionable next steps with the community team

Community Messaging and Content: Manage content calendars for community communications and ensure alignment with other teams.

  • You will post announcements for launches
  • You will identify moments that may require updated messaging as a response to the community
  • You will create messaging that follows the tone of the brand 

Community Insights & Sentiment Reporting: Analyze community data, report on feedback and sentiment,

  • Include callouts to action items (proposed or committed) with follow-up to ensure completion Use team listening tools as an input to sentiment reports; train others on the team how to best setup and use these tools 
  • As requested, report on the health of the game community at large or specific sub-communities regarding engagement levels and sentiment

Internal and External Collaboration: Collaborate with multiple departments, and help manage small cohorts of players, i.e. Feedback Councils 

  • Craft informative, friendly outreach copy
  • Operational logistics required, such as contracts, NDAs, and payment
  • Use the EA Creator Network to facilitate collaborations

Operations: Keep track of best practices in documentation and identify gaps in existing processes. 

Abilities:

  • Proficiency with communication strategies for native social media and community discussion platforms and analytics
  • Knowledge of brand communications best practices and technical writing
  • Awareness of industry trends and happenings
  • Familiarity with The Sims, game modes, player motivations and needs

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in Player Engagement, Community Management, Social Media Management, or other related fields
  • 2 or more years of experience with direct interactions with a player community
  • High-quality writing skills with global audiences in mind 
  • Comfort with ambiguity and highly adaptive in challenging environments with multiple clients
  • Planning, organizational, and task/project management abilities
  • Familiar with collaborating in a global environment
  • Experience with social listening tools 

Pluses

  • Degrees in communication, marketing, or related field
  • Project management training, certifications, and experience
  • A passionate gamer with ample experience and strong understanding/passion for The Sims franchise
  • Existing strong personal network within EA’s communities
  • Experience with video, audio, and/or graphic arts production
  • Experience on camera/public speaking
  • Approach goals with outside-the-box creativity


US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


BASE SALARY RANGES

• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $82,500 - $122,900 USD Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
