What you will do:

As a Technical Experience Designer, you will work with Visual and UX Experience Designers, and Software Engineers, to create outstanding player experiences. You will break down visual design mockups into smaller pieces that you will implement directly in the engine to help create the building blocks that make up the game's user-interface. You will build new screens, widgets, and other UI elements to specifications in collaboration with the Visual and UX Design teams, and you will report to the XD Technical Design Manager. Lastly, you will advocate for best practices, proper coding standards, and strive for modular UI design.

Responsibilities

  • You will implement screens, widgets, logic, and data flows using a combination of visual and traditional scripting
  • You will use graphics software to generate images, implement re-usable colors and font styles, and build other visual elements that align with the game’s existing design system
  • Design and help build tools and workflows to support iterative development
  • Work with Visual and UX Designers, as well as Software Engineers to breakdown design, technical and data requirements
  • Break-down features into defined structures, components, and processes that meet the technical, aesthetic, and functional requirements of the game's vision
  • You will implement UI animation and motion of prepared screen assets to support interaction and motion guidelines

Requirements

  • Experience prototyping, building, and managing UI features from concept to release
  • Shipped at least 1 game title as a Technical Designer, Technical Artist, Scripter, or similar role
  • 1-2 years of experience working in Games or other interactive media
  • Experience working in a collaborative and cross-discipline environment
  • Interest in UI and user experience
  • Experience with Visual Scripting or Programming/Scripting languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, or LUA.
  • Experience working with version control software such as Perforce and Git, and participating in code review processes
