Summary

Embark on an exhilarating journey with Electronic Arts as a Senior Taxonomist! We're looking for someone to join our vibrant team of information science professionals. You'll collaborate with taxonomists and knowledge engineers to design and implement enterprise taxonomies. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Information Architecture, you'll help enhance data connectivity and content classification, driving the future of information architecture in the gaming world. Responsibilities

  • You will develop and implement taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata schemas.
  • You will identify taxonomy requirements by analyzing partners' needs, system requirements, and EA's existing content corpus.
  • You will help improve taxonomy development processes and outcomes.
  • You will operationalize a taxonomy governance framework across multiple teams and diverse partners.
  • You will partner with marketing, content, and technical teams to implement taxonomies.
  • You will educate partners on taxonomy processes, workflows, and governance frameworks, defining complex concepts and relationships in an easy-to-understand way.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building taxonomies in a global organization, including:
  • An understanding of the theoretical principles of taxonomy architecture and experience adapting controlled vocabularies to meet specific organizational needs.
  • Experience combining numerous requirements into holistic solutions that provide a long-term, strategic benefit.
  • Master's degree in Library or Information Science or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Experience designing and collecting taxonomy requirements, including interviews, document analysis, workshops, business process outcome modelling, or task and workflow analysis.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment, including providing and receiving constructive peer feedback to promote excellence across the team.
  • Experience communicating complex technical information among multiple partners.
  • Experience with natural language search processes and machine learning to support taxonomy development and automated content tagging.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):

º $107,600 - $147,100 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
