Ridgeline Games is focused on building rich narrative campaigns with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe. We are building a new studio in the Seattle area composed of leaders and talent with a vast array of AAA game dev experience. As we assemble our diverse team, all who have a voice in making great games together, we're looking for a healthy mixture of tempered veterans and young passionate individuals eager to make a difference.

Role Overview: You are a Lead Gameplay Engineer, reporting to the Studio Technical Director who has experience leading teams in developing exciting gameplay. You will be challenged to collaborate with a cross discipline team to lead the technical prototyping and production of new gameplay systems, then improve and polish them to perfection.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • You will work directly with designers to game design problems such as character and camera control, camera controls, combat mechanics, role playing games systems.
  • You have experience with visual scripting languages and typical entity/component systems for game-engines and a desire to write systems using these to build a good API to game designers and scripters.
  • Experience in using AI technologies applies to character simulation (NPC, enemies), team strategy, economy and world simulations.
  • Excellent debugging and multi-threading skills.
  • Experience with video-game asset pipelines.
  • Recruit and retain passionate team members to the team and company.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 7+ years software development experience
  • 4+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Conflict management skills
  • Experience building a variety of gameplay systems
  • Creative prototyping skills
  • Great collaborative skills with developers across departments
