Position Title: Software Engineer II

External Description:

The Narrative Software Engineer will work in a multi-disciplinary role, designing and building tools and runtime systems that utilize Speech, Game Modes, and User Interface technologies to help tell the story of the fight in a way that is meaningful and compelling. The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating with Software Engineers, Producers, Designers, and Technical Artists across multiple domains to bring together a high quality, cohesive player experience.

 

What the Narrative Software Engineer will do at EA:

- Collaborate with technical artists, designers, and other software engineers to support narrative features and ensure quality results.

- Design and build tool workflows, pipelines and runtime systems using technologies from multiple domains (Speech, UI, Game Modes, Cinematics)

- Maintain and implement tools required for implementing and debugging narrative content management and playback.

 

Skills / Experience:

- Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Computer Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent training and professional experience

- Strong knowledge of C++ and experience in object-oriented design and implementation

- Experience working with relational databases and their associated tools and query languages (ex: SQL)

- Excellent debugging experience using tools to help debug

- Knowledge of good software engineering practices

- Work with internal and externally developed code in a collaborative fashion
