The Online Engineer designs and implements solutions connecting millions of players in our online multiplayer games. You will design, develop and support online features such as authentication, matchmaking, server browser and statistics for future titles on a client level as well as on a backend level. This is a challenging role that demands knowledge from multiple disciplines.  As part of a game team, you are expected to create systems and workflow enabling designers to deliver feature rich live services that can be enjoyed by players for years to come.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of a feature from workflow to client to online backend.
• Collaborate with designers to understand and capture requirements.
• Collaborate within a team engineers both local and remote.
• Maintain and improve existing online code.
• Provide solutions that are forward facing and support the live services team.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of professional programming experience and good understanding of software design principles.
• Strong C++ engineering skills with multithreaded programming and debugging experience.
• Strong architectural skills.
• Experience with networking and application layer protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS).
• Experience with scalable distributed systems, including performance & storage considerations.
• Experience with SQL as well as non-relational databases.
• Familiarity with SCM, preferably Perforce.
• Experience with the Frostbite game engine is a plus.
• Experience with Linux is a plus.
• Experience with C# is a plus.
• Able to communicate with technical and non-technical team members and partner groups.
• Able to own features end-to-end and put together technical proposals and software estimates.
• Self-driven with a strong sense of quality
• Willingness and openness to learn new skills and ramp up quickly
