The Challenge Ahead

We are looking for a naturally collaborative Principle Narrative Designer, working closely with game design, audio and the art departments in creating a compelling game experience.

 

The Successful Applicant Must:

• Have 5 years minimum hands on experience in the Video Game industry and having shipped at least one “AAA” title as a Narrative Designer.
• Have experience in developing and working within a variety of narrative delivery systems.
• Interpret and execute the Lead Designer, Art Director and Executive Producer’s vision and communicate that to the rest of the team; maintaining the narrative vision of the project.
• Have a great understanding and ability to tell stories, write scripts, find character voice and maintain consistency across the project.
• Have a firm grasp of interactive narrative fundamentals, including but not limited to pacing, branching, and visual storytelling.
• Work collaboratively with the Art and Design teams.
• Initiate critique of the writing teams work across the project.
• Become the project’s point of contact for writing with respects to technical implementation and IP cohesion.
• Create and understand Writing pipelines and work flows with the ability to modify and improve them.
• Test and proactively troubleshoot the game and help fix issues.
• Be forward thinking and anticipate the needs of the writing team.
• Be meticulous and organized in the approach to the tasks, files and storage, and help your team to be the same.
• Be enthusiastic and expect to take on challenges.
• Have Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or training.
• Provide writing samples of personal or professional work.

Pluses:

• Knowledge of scripting or programming
• Experience with open-world and RPG games
• Experience in mobile and free-to-play games
• Experience in other game designer roles
