The Challenge Ahead:

EA is seeking a Senior Consumer Insights Manager to design and implement complex consumer research programs and provide ongoing insight-based guidance to game development studios, Marketing, Publishing and other teams throughout Electronic Arts. This role will be located in Geneva and will include direct and indirect management. This person will collaborate with all functions within EA including Game Studios, Marketing and Publishing with particular focus on these organizations in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

 

Reporting to the Director of Consumer Insights, this person will have demonstrated experience managing research professionals, advising strategic leaders in multiple functions and measurably improving business results through consumer insight.

 

What a Senior Consumer Insights Manager does at EA:

  • Create long-range research and insight roadmap to address future business needs.
  • Lead relevant and timely research projects that drive business outcomes in product development, marketing, and corporate strategy. Responsible for timelines, budgeting, risk assessment and mitigation strategy for projects.
  • Work closely with other groups within EA Global Analytics and Insights, including Analytics, Data Science, and User Experience Research, to generate a unified perspective on our players’ behaviors and motivations.
  • Contribute insight-based strategic guidance to drive EA’s growth into emerging markets, platforms and player motivations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements or new methodologies to increase the efficiency and impact of Consumer Insights.
  • Facilitate multi-level communications including workshops, written communication and 1-1 relationship building with brand & studio partners to drive adoption of research results.
  • Manage research relationships with external vendors and internal partners across multiple time zones in Europe, Asia and North America.
  • Develop direct and indirect reports’ research skillsets, business acumen and strategic understanding of EA’s business environment.

 

 

The next great EA Senior Consumer Insights Manager needs:

  • Experience managing multi-phase research projects with cross-functional collaborators and ambiguous or challenging business needs; able to clearly articulate project objectives, determine roles and responsibilities, evaluate progress and make adjustments to the plan with agility.
  • Frames highly complex analyses in the context of business drivers; delivers clear, actionable conclusions from a stakeholder’s perspective.
  • Experience selecting and applying qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to solve real-world problems. Specific methodologies include segmentation, attitude and usage studies, exploratory, positioning and feature research.
  • Encourages a growth mindset; actively cultivates experimentation, diverse perspectives and constructive reflection.
  • Effective and respectful when working with colleagues in multiple offices, different time zones and with different native languages.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented. Ensures accuracy and polish in their own and their team’s work.
  • Self-starter with passion, energy, enthusiasm to affect meaningful change.
  • Able to travel up to 30% and able to respectfully relate to people from many different cultures, backgrounds, and skill sets.

 

The next great EA Senior Consumer Insights Manager also needs:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA /MS/PhD a preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience in consumer insights or similar field including managing research professionals.
  • English language proficiency required
  • Exceptional facility and proven skillset for interpreting consumer research data
  • Understanding of and experience with the following industries preferred:
    • Game design principles and knowledge of the gaming industry (strongly preferred)
    • Subscription-based and microtransaction-based digital content services
    • Entertainment and technology industries (particularly in relation to gaming)
