About our team: We are creating a new team composed of a mixture of veterans of EA/EA SPORTS and new talent from across industries. With some of the most valuable sports IP in the world, and the resources EA has to offer, we have access to the capabilities needed to deliver amazing new experiences for an expanded audience of players worldwide.

 

About the role: You will use your understanding and passion for designing player-first experiences to add to the creative execution and business success of the game. Reporting to the team VP, you will own the creative vision of the game, setting the vision with your game leadership peers and other discipline leads, and then lead the Design team in identifying and detailing features and game experiences to meet that vision.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work with other game and franchise leadership peers to help form the vision and direction for the game, and help to ensure that designs follow the product vision.
• Lead all Design and related (e.g. Art) functions for the team and help the team to maximize their potential and performance in the creation of game experiences.
• Inspire and motivate the team to achieve high quality within constraints.
• Take feedback from external groups and break it down to understand the underlying motivations, and drive solutions to problems and opportunities.
• Take a holistic approach to quality and delivery to ensure that the feature set and corresponding execution creates the best possible product.
• Investigate and analyze to validate ideas and opportunities.
• Champion design and design decisions to franchise leadership and executive stakeholders.
• Work on the future direction for the franchise to keep it relevant and exciting in a fast-changing world.

 

Your Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years as a Design Lead or Director on a large title or team.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Designer working in medium/large teams within the video game industry, creating high quality games.
• Experience of mentoring other Designers and providing insightful feedback on design efforts.
• Experience in multi-platform/AAA game development.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to own design areas from initial inception through to implementation.
• Understand how to effectively use the business model of the game, and how design and the business model work together.
• Open to ideas and criticism, and not be precious about your ideas.
• Understand why an idea will or won't work, and how to design in order to hit specific goals.

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The hourly pay ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the hourly pay range for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $184,250 - $271,700
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $193,000 - $300,850
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $184,250 - $300,850
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $184,250 - $252,600
• Jersey City, NJ :
º $212,300 - $300,850

The hourly rate is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
