Position Title: Quality Designer I

External Description:

This is an opportunity to join a veteran team and help improve quality processes and projects across a large franchise spanning multiple studios around the world. Working with the QA and QE professionals, you will be the primary QA owner for Development tools and automation. The Quality Designer (Tools and Tech) has a deep understanding of the tools and technology used by content creators on the franchise, and works with the testing team to ensure the tools used to create Apex Legends are best-in-class, and that they meet the needs of the Apex team.

You will report to the Development Director overseeing the Tools and Technology specialties within the QA organization.

What the Quality Designer will do:

• Help serve as a QA leader bridging the relationship between the testing organization, Tools/Technology engineers, and Content Creators across the franchise.
• Performs ROI analyses for Development and QA to ensure that engineering partners have the information required to focus efforts on the highest value opportunities.
• Validates workflows used by multiple disciplines, and translates into actionable testing strategies that can be verified by the testing team.
• Documents Creator tool usage and works with QA leadership to implement strategies that enable a shift farther upstream.
• Works with QA leadership to drive tools and technology adoption across the QA organization.

Who you are:

• 3 or more years experience as an analyst in test within software development
• Part of a team that has shipped a complete product from concept to final
• Experience working in short product cycles that release frequently
• Demonstrated ability to drive optimization across a test organization or project
• Monitor dependencies across product team members and maintain awareness of status
• Effective at summarizing findings and outcomes to product leaders
• Comfortable spending stretches of time working hands-on within a tool or automation script to diagnose or improve
• Proficient with the auditing of bug outputs and logs such that you can identify and address errors with the team

Other desirable expertise:

• Familiarity with Modeling applications (3DS, Maya, etc.), Engines (Source, Unreal, etc.) and other software associated with content creation through integration
• Background with generating measures of automation performance or return on investment
• Involvement in code analysis or machine learning techniques
• Previous experience spreading awareness and encouraging adoption of new tools and opportunities
