Position Title: Software Engineer I

External Description:

FIFA's Quality Engineering team is looking for a Java Software Engineer to work with our test and development FIFA Ultimate Team group to create and deploy technical server automation. You will debug complex problems and breathe new life into technical roadblocks, working with our test and development teams. With no bug too small, you understand that creating seamless automation solutions is the key to defect prevention, not simply defect detection. This team works with the development and test team, where you will report to the QV Development Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, test, debug and deploy automated smoke tests and functional tests to support our project deliverables
  • Support an increased adoption of automation within game teams and aid us in the identification and requirements gathering for new automation solutions.
  • Identify and recommend debug and telemetry enhancements to aid our test verification.
  • Provide debug support and technical expertise to game testing teams and game software engineers.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing sessions of existing tools, automation and testing processes.
  • Escalate risks and recommend upstream tools, automated solutions and workflows.
  • Provide performance results analysis on current processes and infrastructures.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a java software engineer or similar programming language
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, software engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with software quality assurance concepts and debugging processes.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle, software engineering methodologies and their application to both development and QA.
  • Knowledge of technical writing concepts and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
