Position Title: Systems Engineer II

As an important member of the Private Cloud Engineering team, you will report to a senior manager and play an instrumental role in infrastructure engineering for private cloud projects.

This is a hybrid role, and you will need to travel to our EA office 1-2 times per week, and travel to other EA offices for planning meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Be a primary infrastructure engineer for private cloud projects and initiatives.
  • Manage a diverse range of tasks to ensure impactful delivery in areas including infrastructure, transformation and migration, security, and integration.
  • Collaborate with the architecture team to produce comprehensive designs that cover technology aspects, service support, management, monitoring, and maintenance needs.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of our private cloud platform and backend services.
  • Uphold information security best practices and ensure compliance with information assurance requirements in all design and implementations.
  • Help improve the current environment and delivery methodologies, advocating for automation to ensure consistency and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Technical skills
    • 5 years practical experience in supporting Private and Public Cloud Infrastructure, with knowledge of virtualization, hybrid and multi-cloud architectures.
    • Proficiency with server infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, managed backup, and hyper-converged platforms.
    • Experience with SQL/no-SQL databases.
    • Proficiency with Cloud Technologies, such as Azure or AWS.
    • Expertise in scripting languages and automation tools, such as Python and Ansible.
    • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Familiarity with Linux systems, equivalent to LPIC-2 level.
    • Prior experience migrating on-premises applications to the cloud.
  • Soft skills
    • Experience approaching a problem from different angles, analyzing pros and cons of different solutions.
    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
