You will work on a wide variety of groundbreaking tools and systems to provide Localization to EA's products. As a Machine Translation Specialist, you will report to the Machine Translation Lead. Your main role will be to support the implementation of the EA's MT strategy and help accelerate our MT and Real-time Localization vision.

What a Machine Translation Specialist does at EA:

  • You will prepare the material for engine training, cleaning data and come up with best practices and automation processes.
  • You will perform tests with different kind of content and provide MT Quality estimations.
  • You will conduct MT usability tests and summarize the feedback, testing results and creating guidelines and documentation on best practices for contractors and vendors, while training post-editors for the different languages.
  • You will support with data annotation for feedback and error analysis to identify patterns and fix issues in the engine by training data.
  • You will help with the technical integration of MT in CAT tool and API integrations.
  • You will help with the creation of regular expressions and optimization of the text import in the CAT tool, to handle variable issues and any other pre-processing step.
  • You will analyse quality feedback and categorizing to improve the output.
  • You will work with other teams for engine data training preparation and quality evaluation.
  • You will assist the team with questions and practical tasks.
  • You will support vendor management with quality evaluation and vendor preparation for MT.
  • You will review post-edited output to produce high-quality training corpus for MT engines.
  • You will support the team with creating guidelines and documentation on best practices for post-editors.
  • You will support investigation of technical bugs and issues with the MT integration.
  • You will investigate in automatic evaluation methodologies and edit distance to gather enough methodologies for our partners.
  • You will demonstrate active learning and close collaboration with the MT task force.

The experience we are looking for:

  • Fluent English and a linguistic background [Fluent in other language(s)].
  • Great technical knowledge of Machine Translation technology (NMT) and data preparation for engine training
  • Knowledge of regular expressions and text import techniques
  • Knowledge of MT metrics and algorithms for quality evaluation
  • Post-Editing knowledge.
  • CAT tools proficiency and MT integrations.
  • Analytical and self-driven approach.
  • Proficiency with most used translation file and TM formats (.xliff, .xml, .tmx, .xlsx)
  • Excellent Teamworkwer and communication skills
  • Self-starting, proactive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Knowledge of Python, NLP and creation of automation scripts.
