Position Title: Senior Visual Effects Artist

Our Senior VFX Artist will work across a range of real-time fx for our mobile FPS such as environmental fx, weapon fx, vehicle fx, as well as fx supporting gameplay visuals and UI. You have experience authoring textures manually or through simulations in 3D tools such as Houdini to achieve a specific visual target. The Sr. VFX artist works closely with designers, art directors, and engineers to ensure the game's fx look the best they can under the performance budgets for a range of mobile devices.

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize, design, and create visual effects in UE4 for our mobile FPS.
• Create and apply dynamic animation and simulation techniques to a variety of effects to simulate physical & energetic phenomena.
• Work collaboratively with the Game Design discipline to understand the VFX requirements and support the communication of gameplay mechanics information back to the player through visual elements.
• Partner with the Art Director to match a specific visual style ranging from photo-real to more stylized fx.
• Interact and collaborate with the key client team members (Art, Programming, Production, etc.) 
• Work with and manage tasks in collaboration with external partners and vendors.

Required Skills:

• At least 5+ years of cinematic/games production experience. You have completed more than 2 AAA or mobile games.
• You have extensive experience with real-time visual effects editors as well as particle systems.
• You know how to create high quality, optimized VFX for mobile titles and have keen eye for timing, animation, and weight.
• You have a working knowledge of Houdini, Maya, and/or other commercial 3D authoring and fluid sim packages to produce source textures and models.
• You have experience authoring in UE4 or similar real-time engine.
• You’ve worked on games before and have a deep understanding of the game development process.
• You have strong interest in VFX and evaluate competitive products to learn from their VFX implementation solutions.
• Experience with scripting languages and shader authoring (HLSL) is a plus
• Experience as a modeler or texture artist or animator is a plus
• Avid gamer is a plus
