Position Title: Experience Designer I

External Description:

Industrial Toys, creators of Midnight Star and Midnight Star: Renegade, is ramping up to start its next adventure and looking for new team members to help make it the best yet. Building on hard-won knowledge as an indie studio, we've joined forces with EA to realize our vision of what it means to be "Mobile To The Core!"

Located in the vibrant neighborhood of Old Pasadena, Industrial Toys is growing and

generating buzz in the mobile games industry. Following the philosophy of “Players

First,” we are working together to create exciting and innovative game experiences.

The ideal UX Designer candidate is a curious self-starter that will be able to contribute

insights and visual ideas to our user experience design process. This role has a focus on micro-interactions in gameplay mechanics. The position also offers the opportunity to learn a broad range of skills in the context of making world-class games with the

guidance of experienced mentors.

Responsibilities:

Work with other UX Designers and Game Designers to refine the micro-interactions in gameplay until it feels great for players
Help develop and communicate the game's UX to complement the game’s broader style
Develop visual systems that achieve goals from both game design and UX
perspectives
Iterate designs according to reviews, changing requirements, and user playtests
Design UX wireframes for game features, systems, and experiences

Qualifications:

A degree In Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science or related field
A passion for playing and making awesome games
Strong with Photoshop, Illustrator or similar software
Experience with Sketch, Adobe XD or similar a plus
Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4 is a plus
Good graphic design and visual communication skills
