EA Seattle is looking for a Contract 3D Environment Artist to join our successful and talented team.

The Role

As an Environment Artist, you will be a primary contributor to the artistic vision for our games.
We are looking for a talented modeler who will contribute to our games’ environment look and feel by creating 3D environment assets, assist with outsourcing feedback, and integrating assets into Unity. Work done in this role must: bolster the products’ IP and style, be authored for optimal performance on various devices, and satisfy our game designs’ needs in order to obtain stakeholder buy-in.  

What You’ll Do

-Work with the Art Director and creative team to develop various environment props and compose full environmental scenes in 3D.
-Work proactively with various disciplines to align on asset creation goals for our products.
-Work with our outsource manager to provide feedback to work coming in from 3rd party vendors.
-Adjust and prep models for integration.
-Help with integrating environment assets into our game (Unity)
-Come up with creative solutions on how to convert 2D concepts into performant, appealing, and functional 3D game assets.

Required Skills and Experience

-Maya and ZBrush skills (Hard surface and organic modeling)
-Solid texture painting skills in Zbrush/3D Coat/Photoshop
-Experience with integrating assets into Unity.
-Proactive work ethic with the ability to self-organize and make decisions when dealing in ambiguity.
-Excellent communication and collaboration across all disciplines.
-Ability to adapt to a major IP’s style for the needs of mobile game experience.
-Strong understanding of how to create successful/optimized models for use on a mobile platform.
-A passion for playing and making awesome games!

Pluses
 
-Lighting experience is a big plus.
-Experience in a leadership role.
-Experience with providing feedback to outsourcers.
-Character modeling
-Experience with Substance Painter or 3D Coat 
-Experience with Perforce and Hansoft
