Position Title: Intern General

External Description:

In this role on the EA Newsroom team, you will create content to engage with players every day across web, social, and editorial. This is a rotational program that is designed to help you learn the ropes of being part of a fast-paced Newsroom while contributing to overarching campaigns.

 

The EA Newsroom is built to support the needs of our players and the gaming community across owned and social channels. This role reports into a Social and Editorial Lead.

 

You will:

  • Participate in a rotational program that includes social media marketing, editorial, and web.
  • Complete and present an end-of-internship project that contributes to the overall goals of the EA Newsroom team as well as the greater business

 

Responsibilities:

  • Social
    • Schedule and publish social content
    • Contribute to social content briefs
    • Pull social data from various social media platforms
  • Editorial
    • Attend weekly franchise and EA Brand Newsroom meetings
    • Contribute to editorial briefs
    • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to gather approvals for editorial content
  • Web
    • Attend weekly franchise web syncs
    • Contribute to web briefs
    • Actively seek out opportunities to optimize ea.com websites

 

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Enthusiasm for trying new things, taking risks, and a willingness to learn from successes and failures
  • An ability to create strong, playful, informative copy
  • Passion to develop an expert knowledge of the games we make
  • Curiosity about our players and the reasons why they play our games
  • Interest in pop culture, entertainment, music, and the intersection of games and culture
  • Experience with real-time social and web analytics and tools
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience with content creation tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Giphy, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic graphic design and typography
  • Must be an enrolled student during summer of 2019
  • Must submit the following writing scenario with their application:
    • You’ve been tasked with marketing two different titles today! Each team has asked you for three tweets for the week that embodies the tone and feel of their title.
    • Please draft the social posts you would submit for review.

      1. Write three tweets for The Sims Twitter
      2. Write three tweets for the Anthem Twitter
