Sr. Development Director - DTS Operations

The Development Technology & Services (DTS) team at EA partners directly with all game teams.  Everything we do is in support of providing timely and actionable insights on the quality of our products throughout the development lifecycle.  We are a distributed, cross-functional team filled with very creative people; You will have an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in an environment that fosters creative solutions to support game development.

DTS is seeking a Director of Operations. This role will report into the Head of Operations for our global organization, and will take the lead on delivering several key operational and business management objectives & priorities. These can include global vendor management strategies, monitoring location business performance, collaborating with our Finance organization to ensure we are projecting and managing financial risks in the business, partnering on the development and monitoring of key business KPIs, etc. The role will be based in Vancouver but will need to effectively collaborate with senior leaders across all DTS functions and disciplines around the global organization to be successful. We are looking for a strong and passionate leader who is driven by solving difficult and fast-moving problems. You need to be able to effectively collaborate, communicate and motivate, often across business units and with peers or partners in other parts of the business. What the DTS Director of Operations Will Do:

  • Responsible for aspects of operational performance of the multi-disciplinary DTS organization – Quality Verification, Localization, Certification, Development & Release Engineering – including financial predictability, vendor strategies, components of business processes and operational KPIs
  • In partnership with the Head of Operations of DTS, be a primary business partner to the DTS Finance team on overall financial predictability, trending, and risk management/mitigation
  • Partner with other DTS Department Heads & Sr Leaders to ensure key business operational processes are established, implemented and maintained
  • Collaborate with other leaders in driving innovation and efficiency efforts, fostering new ways of thinking with a goal of reducing waste, improving focus on what matters most and increasing predictability.
  • Participate in developing, maintaining and ensuring key business KPI’s are published that track business quality, efficiency, evolution and impact on product delivery and predictability.
  • Manage partnerships; establish regular communication with team and key business stakeholders to provide timely guidance and updates on operational responsibilities.
  • Be a team leader and a business partner; foster an engaging, fulfilling and fun working environment
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring members of a strong Operations team; recruiting, onboarding, and retention.

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years of proven leadership growing and developing high performance teams as well as operations experience in product development, business management and/or service delivery environments.
  • Highly developed relationship building skills, as well as the ability to establish credibility and influence within and outside your organization.
  • A visible and approachable business manager with strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong financial acumen; adept at identifying, analyzing and managing the organization through business risks arising from financial realities and/or variances.
  • Ability to develop and execute on business strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and possesses strong emotional intelligence skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Possess passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results; highly action oriented.
  • Flexible and agile: ability to adapt quickly and be effective in a highly dynamic environment.
