The Challenge Ahead

 

We are now looking for an individual that is to head up the operations at DICE. You will be the organizational center and own the overall vision for the operations subject matter.

 

The next great Head of Operations at DICE needs:

 

STRATEGIC– the bigger picture of games development

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead DICE strategic initiatives that will have a profound impact on our people, products, and the business
  • Evolve the DICE Studio organizational and process design, delivering an effective and efficient operating model for the future of the Studio, Battlefield and Live Services
  • Direct the DICE development craft, project management vision, implementation and culture required to enable predictability and efficiency in a creative environment
  • Continuously improve the DICE development processes, the implementation of the Game Development Framework, and effective retrospectives, during the development cycle
  • Create the frameworks and reporting structures for projects across all areas of development, valuable for both EA Studios leadership, DICE leadership, and the development teams
  • Drive strategic workforce planning and long-range modelling for the studio, as well as staffing across all of DICE’s projects
  • Identify and build strategic relationships with partners inside as well as outside of EA
  • Together with the Studio GM and Communications team, drive studio strategic communications

 

OPERATIONAL – the process and business impact

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Operational execution for the DICE Leadership team – drive meetings, plans, agendas and follow up on actions
  • Set and monitor operational KPIs for DICE and drive activities that achieve the teams’ strategic objectives
  • Drive the delivery of studio wide improvement projects and initiatives
  • Lead process improvements that drive product quality, timeliness, and efficiencies
  • Provide oversight around key game development processes, including DICE’s title planning and gate processes
  • Conduct reviews with development teams, risk analysis, advise on best practices and provide solutions and support
  • Ensure a high-quality physical working environment and infrastructure, to foster a creative and effective work space, in partnership with Facilities and IT
  • Provide complex project solutions across multiple disciplines that consider people, process and technology
  • Support the studio in commercial partnerships (i.e. AMD, Intel etc.)
  • Drive strong relationships with all our internal development partners
  • Review revenue forecasts and oversee cash-flow with Finance
  • Ensure studio staffing plans are always up to date and coordinate resource planning across teams
  • Define and drive the execution of the future workforce shape requirements for the Studio, critical strategic talent gaps, insource, outsource, and external development partnerships
  • Drive long-term processes and plans for development and retention of talent with the local People Experiences team
  • Plan and oversee DICE Talent Acquisition strategy and status with the local Talent Acquisition team
  • Own and drive overarching cross-studio communication and partnerships

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 10+ years of operations and leadership experience
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to challenge and influence a variety of partners
  • Ability to prepare/present high impact business cases/analyses/recommendations to leadership team
  • Proficient change management skills, i.e., comfortable with ambiguity and constant change, yet able to set priorities and execute on commitments
  • Self-starter who can identify and solve problems
  • Plan, organize, and run key operational activities of the studio teams and set clear targets to achieve studio objectives
  • Commit to predictable delivery and risk management
  • Collaborative communicator, customer focused with exceptional decision making and leader of teams
  • Experience from the gaming industry is preferred
