UX DESIGNER

EA is seeking a User Experience Designer to join our passionate and creative mobile team! You’ll be responsible for leading UX design work, evolving problems that are complex and ambiguous into clear actionable design solutions. You'll work from concept to completion by collaborating closely with other designers to achieve your goals. Most importantly, you will be responsible for ensuring the player experience is intuitive in guiding them through a complex network of selection and customization screens.

The Job

  • Produce designs using low-fidelity mockups, wireframes, user flows, journey mapping and other UX methodologies to help convert design challenges into viable shippable solutions which follow and compliments to our UX strategy and design principles
  • Collect feature goals and pillars from gameplay and system designers and player insights from our User Researchers and convert them into solid UX strategies
  • Facilitate design collaboration sessions and ensure all efforts go through the proper steps of our design process
  • Build functional prototypes
  • Work with discipline leads on establishing strategies, design standards and patterns

Qualifications

  • 3+ years designing in the field of UX for console games, websites, mobile apps, and/or other similar digital products; preferably experience working on AAA games and other larger-scale products, consumer-facing products, with a great portfolio to show
  • Excellent collaborator and able to move a design forward with stakeholders using solid and proven collaboration methods

  • Player First-Centered Design champion; put the player needs at the center of all phases of the design process and feature development. Advocate for identifying the core needs of the players in all design discussions
  • A desire to continue working to improve your skills and evolve your design thinking practices, although you've mastered the design tools in your kit (e.g. wireframes, personas, journey mapping, information architecture, prototyping)
  • Thoughtfully break experiences down in order to ship value to our players. Understand that good design needs iterations and frequent evaluations, knowing how to measure success using both qualitative and quantitative insights
  • Proficient with UX design and prototyping tools creating wireframes, flows, and more
  • Experience in implementing UX guides and designing within the constraints of existing brand identities
  • Experience working with UX researchers and applying user test findings to improve the usability and overall quality of your designs

Nice to Have Skills

  • BA in Human-Computer Interaction, User-Centered Design, Cognitive science or equivalent
  • Scripting/programming experience
  • Experience working in Agile and using a Player-Centered Design process
  • Ability to use Illustrator, Photoshop or equivalent software to convey designs
