EA Seattle is looking for a 3D Environment Artist to join our successful and talented team.

The Role

As an Environment Artist, you will be a primary contributor to the artistic vision for our games.

We are looking for a talented modeler who will take a major part in driving our games’ environment look and feel. Work done in this role must: bolster the products’ IP and style, be authored for optimal performance on various devices, and satisfy our game designs’ needs in order to obtain stakeholder buy in.

What You’ll Do

-Work with the Art Director and creative team to develop various environment props and compose full environmental scenes in 3D.

-Help with creating environmental style guides and templates.

-Work proactively with various disciplines to align on asset creation goals for our products.

-Come up with creative solutions on how to convert 2D concepts into performant, appealing, and functional 3D game assets.

Required Skills and Experience

·        Maya and ZBrush skills (Hard surface and organic modeling)

·        Solid texture painting skills in Zbrush/3D Coat/Photoshop

·        Proactive work ethic with ability to self-organize and make decisions when dealing in ambiguity.

·        Excellent communication and collaboration across all disciplines.

·        Ability to adapt to a major IP’s style for the needs of a mobile game experience.

·        Strong understanding of how to create successful models for use on a mobile platform.

·        A passion for playing and making awesome games!

Pluses

·        Lighting experience is a big plus.

·        Experience implementing your own work in Unity or game engines.

·        Experience in a leadership role.

·        Experience with providing feedback to outsourcers.

·        Character modeling

·        Experience with Substance Painter or 3D Coat

·        Experience with Perforce and Hansoft
