Tracktwenty Studio

Tracktwenty is an Electronic Arts mobile game studio based in the center of Helsinki, and with members in Romania, Sweden and Spain. The studio brought SimCity BuildIt to mobile and tablet, and the game has more than 200 million installs to date.

The Challenge Ahead

We are looking for a visionary Senior Game Design Director who will partner closely with the studio GM and Director of Product to align game design vision and product strategy with business goals. You will lead a group of Game Designers define a Game Design Vision and collaborate with the Director of Product on a performance oriented roadmap. You will work closely with your team to develop high quality designs and with the development team and other stakeholders to turn these designs into high quality player experiences. It is a pivotal studio leadership role that will have a massive impact on the game and play a critical role in shaping the future of the business within EA Mobile. This leader will work with an experienced team, planning and coordinating the live service and  the development of the features, content and technology for the live product. You are driven to systematically improve the processes together with the teams you work with.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and drive the creative vision and strategy for SimCity BuildIt, aligning it with the overall business objectives of Electronic Arts.
  • Lead the design and development of game mechanics, systems, and features to enhance player engagement, monetization and retention.
  • Manage a team of game designers and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop clear and compelling game designs for SimCity BuildIt and guide the team through its execution including post launch optimizations.
  • Define and champion game design and game economy management principles to be applied across the entire game (and studio)
  • Oversee the creation of design documentation, ensuring clarity and alignment with the project's vision
  • Use and analyze player data and feedback to iterate and improve game design and balance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, marketing, and business development to deliver an exceptional experience to our players. 
  • Champion a user-centric approach, prioritizing user experience and engagement to drive product enhancements.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with a successful track record of leading and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and the ability to translate strategic plans into tactical actions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mobile game development, game design, creative strategies, and live services.
  • Proven experience as a Game Design Director or similar role in the mobile gaming industry is a plus
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
