The Challenge Ahead:

Electronic Arts are hiring for a Risk Analyst II, the position is based in one of our offices in Lyon (France), Guildford (United Kingdom) or Madrid (Spain). You will primarily ensure that financial risks on sales channels are correctly valued and recorded. These risks include supporting the sales teams on their price promotion decisions and associated costs.

As a key member of a Worldwide team, you will support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. This includes developing reporting packs and presenting variance analysis to Executive management. Researching and documenting historical trends of past pricing strategies and actions.

You will have strong partnership with cross functional teams, and a good ability to communicate to the corporate team on all financial risk situations.  Key business partners include FP&A, Controllership, Accounts Receivables, Sales, Demand Planning. You will also support internal and external Audit reviews.

You will also be a key stakeholder in cross functional projects. Leveraging on your expertise with systems and data reporting, you will help improve and automatize existing processes or build new ones.

 

What a Risk Analyst II does at EA:

Sales Rebates Allowance (SRA)

  • Run the provision calculation for price promotions and returning product (SRA) for specific territories.
  • Manage the review at month end to provide accurate provision calculation.
  • Creating and posting related accounting entries in our ERP (Oracle)
  • Support the forecasting process.
  • Analyse the P&L and Balance Sheet impacts of the provision. Other ad-hoc analysis to support management’s decisions.
  • Partner with Sales and Demand Planning departments on pricing strategy.
  • Review and approval of promotions prior to payment.
  • Support Audit review with KPMG: methodology, calculation, and Balance Sheet reconciliation

 

Product Placement Fees (PPF)

  • Run the provision calculation for Product Placement Fee (PPF) for specific territories.
  • Analyse the P&L and Balance Sheet impact of the provision.
  • Partner with Sales & FP&A team on the forecasting process
  • Creating and posting related accounting entries in our ERP (Oracle)

 

Cross functional projects

  • Leverage your strong systems and data reporting skills to be a key stakeholder of the finance transformation at Electronic Arts
  • Partner in projects around our distribution model, especially on packaged goods
  • Standardize & Automate reporting while leveraging access to more and more data to better support the business
  • Design new frameworks and finance controls to match the innovation of our industry and how we bring value to our players

 

The next great EA Financial Risk Analyst also needs

  • Business Degree or finance background including accounting knowledge
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent system skills and desire to further hone through trainings and self-learning (Excel, Access, PowerApps)
  • Experience on our Finance tool desirable e.g. Oracle, PowerBI, Tableau
  • Inquisitive nature and quick learning, embrace potential of A.I. use in Finance
  • A team player who is able of working collaboratively within the group and across business units/functions
  • Proactive and problem-solving attitude, who works well independently
  • Motivated Self-starter with the ability to build and maintain relationships in a remote management structure
  • Understanding of the video game market
