An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Data & Analytics department as a Cloud DevOps Engineer, working with a team of accomplished engineers. Our mission is to deliver complex development projects for internal systems across a variety of products and technologies. This position is remote, and is reporting to the Tech Lead for Infrastructure.
You will offer challenges across a range of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the department and systems used across the business.
To apply for this role, you have a technical capability and a track record in software development, DevOps and cloud engineering.
Your primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Work on the technical design and implementation of scalable automation solutions for testing, deployment and monitoring systems.
- Work towards operational excellence by identifying opportunities to automate away manual processes.
- Create technical designs with hands-on development of cloud-native data solutions, with a focus on continuous improvement in delivery standards.
- Understand requirements, evaluate options, develop roadmaps and ensure needs are addressed in a complex, multi-partner environment
- Assess and recommend available and latest cloud-based data and analytics technologies
What a Cloud DevOps Engineer at EA does:
- Manage Build infrastructure, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipelines with tools like Gitlab (CI/CD).
- Implement Test Automation & AIOps including data quality monitoring and testing frameworks
- Enhance current automation tools and introduce automation to replace manual processes
- Assess and enhance application security
- Implement tools that build and deploy infrastructure and services
- Write applications to monitor service health, perform log analysis, and automate recovery
- Create designs for improvements or additions to the cloud infrastructure stack and communicate those designs both to team leads and engineers
- Apply software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Prototype, compare, and test new frameworks and technologies and make recommendations based on the results to team leads
Our next Cloud DevOps Engineer at EA will have:
- Well-versed in DevOps principles & practices with 7 years of related experience.
- DevOps tool-chain integration experience: Release Orchestration & Automation, Source Code & Build Management, Code Quality & Security Management, Test-driven Development, CI/CD, Continuous Deployment and Operational Monitoring
- Well-versed in either AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and must demonstrate advanced knowledge in at least five services.
- Experience with Terraform to manage and provision infrastructure.
- Expertise with containerized technologies and container orchestration frameworks, for example Docker and Kubernetes, and their offerings on AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure
- Test, Debugging, and Troubleshooting of Containerized Infrastructure
- Programming experience in either Python, Java. C# or Scala
- Understanding of big data and data processing using tools like AWS Redshift, Astronomer, and Snowflake.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
