Our Motive is to develop innovative action games set in iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero.

Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™. Currently, we're working on two exciting projects, an original Iron Man™ action-adventure game and what's coming next for Battlefield™.
We believe in sharing our passion with our community and each other, fostering an inclusive culture, and nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.

Motive is seeking a Senior Gameplay Software Developer to join our Iron Man project being developed using Unreal Engine 5. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of gameplay features and systems in an innovative and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enhance a variety of features relating to combat, weapon systems and progression through collaboration with other software developers, game designers and animators.
  • Participate in defining the architecture of foundational gameplay technology and associated performance targets
  • Collaborate with designers and content creators to brainstorm solutions that further the game’s artistic and design vision
  • Mentor other developers on the gameplay team and participate in design and code reviews
  • Work closely with QA and technical leadership to ensure the stability and accuracy of game systems by identifying, communicating, and resolving defects

Qualifications:

  • B.S. (or higher) degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 10+ years of professional C/C++ experience
  • Experience developing gameplay systems on AAA games with at least one shipped title
  • Strong teamwork skills but also the ability to take ownership and work independently
  • Experience of working with animation and physics systems to deliver gameplay features
  • Experience using Unreal Engine 4/5 is strongly preferred
  • Passion for both developing and playing games
