Position Title: Software Engineer II

BI ENGINEER

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer with broad technical skills to dive deep into complex data projects. This role will report to the Lead BI Engineer in the Data and Analytics organization, while working daily as an embedded partner within the Full Circle studio supporting Skate. At Full Circle we believe in creating an inclusive world inside and outside of our games for our players and our team. As a geo-diverse studio, our team members around the globe can either work from home, in the office or a hybrid of both. You will have experience developing and establishing scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analyses and have an excellent ability dealing with huge volumes of data. You will also stay informed of the latest trends and research on all aspects of BI and Analytics and will have experience delivering complex projects with broad decision-making on technical decisions and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will develop automated reporting to promote data-driven decisions across our team and with partner teams.
  • You will be involved in the entire development life cycle from brainstorming ideas to implementing elegant solutions to derive data insights.
  • You will gather requirements, model and design solutions to support decision-making and data maturity throughout the studio.
  • You will work with analysts, product managers, and designers to understand requirements, and help develop interactive Looker reports/dashboards.
  • You will support the process of adoption of new technologies and applications we use to integrate analytical solutions.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience in BI engineering/report development
  • Proficiency in writing advanced, performant SQL queries.
  • Well versed in Looker report optimization and tuning and building out PDT's.
  • Experience in design principles and able to give design opinions and recommendations.
  • Well versed in consuming large enterprise data sets.
  • Experience using alternative or custom data sources within Looker (ex. REST APIs).
  • Comfortable working with external partners (cloud vendors, etc.).
  • Comfortable in ambiguous environments.
  • Team player, initiative taker.
  • Experience in any cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Beneficial to Have

  • Knowledge and passion for video games.
  • 2+ years working experience with Python
  • Experience working with unstructured datasets.
  • Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture for relational databases, data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Web development experience (HTML, React).
  • Looker Administration experience.
  • Exposure to creating data pipelines.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $96,400 - $133,900 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
