Position Title: Associate Experience Designer

External Description:

Just 13 miles south of Manchester and a 15-minute train journey, is the attractive market town of Wilmslow. Here amongst the boutique shops and independent cafes and bars is the stunning Playdemic studio. Acquired by EA in 2021, Playdemic is home to the top 10 grossing, BAFTA-winning mobile smash – Golf Clash. Having opened at the beginning of 2020, our award-winning, bespoke studio space offers conventional desk space as well as indulgent breakout areas, meeting rooms and alternative workspaces. The office has been ridgeline-designed to create an environment that encourages and allows our team to do their very best work.

We are looking for a UI Artist to join us at Playdemic in the designing and development of new features to deliver fun and entertainment to millions. Reporting to the Game Design Director, you will be a passionate and creative person, bringing an understanding of graphic design and user experience.

 

Responsibilities

Feature Planning:

  • You will collaborate with UI / UX / Design teams to create incredible user experiences.
  • You will help maintain existing User Interface elements.
  • Create high quality assets and mockups for use in design documentation.
  • Implement UI elements within the game engine.
  • Communicate ideas with other stakeholders using a variety of tools such as Figma/Adobe XD and Confluence.

Key Skills

  • Experience in User Experience design, Wireframing, Mockups, User Interface design and implementation.
  • A keen eye for graphic design, pixel precision, and consistency.
  • An ability to recognise and propose improvements to user flows.
  • Strong creative skills using industry standard software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, XD and Figma.
  • Strong communication and teamwork is essential, with an ability to communicate and work effectively within a team environment.

Bonus Skills

  • Prior experience working in a Mobile Game Development Studio.
  • Experience designing interfaces for mobile products, across a wide range of aspect ratios.
  • Motion Graphics, Illustration, and 3D experience.
  • Experience with 2D animation tools such as Spine or similar animation software.
  • Educated to degree level in a Graphic or Game Design related subject, or equivalent experience.
