EA IT's Game Development & Infrastructure Service (GDIS) team supports and empowers game development across EA's sites and Studio game teams by providing leveraged IT Solutions that enable EA to build the world's best Games and Digital Playground. With the latest generation of gaming platforms, 4K resolution TVs, and 4D modeling, there has been exponential growth in the size of content related to EA's game titles. EA's business strategy leverages a highly distributed development model to produce its games. These trends combined create some unique and exciting Information Technology challenges for the GDIS team to ensure that we have highly performing, secure game dev technology tools and services that meet these business needs and requirements today and in the future.

 

Cloud Engineer – Infrastructure and automation

We are looking for a Cloud/Software Engineer to join us to contribute to the development efforts of the next generation of EA cloud and infrastructure services. You are experienced in developing automated build and deploy pipelines and provisioning compute, networking, security, and storage services in public cloud environments and bare-metal VMs.

This position requires hands-on experience in coding and troubleshooting. You will help us deliver tools and services that directly contribute to EA's Game Development Lifecycle, Employee Experience, Company Operations, and Security teams.

 

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • You will be a key member of the Cloud Engineering team at EA IT, reporting to the Manager of Cloud and Infrastructure.
  • You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing automated IaaS and PaaS cloud solutions for game developers and application teams across different game studios at EA using open-source and proprietary solutions.
  • You will work closely with teams across EA, such as Information Security, Network Engineering, Observability, and SRE/DevOps, to build and operate secure turn-key self-service solutions across public and private clouds.
  • You will contribute to creating and maintaining documentation, instructions, and decision trees for the growing portfolio of products and services the team owns.

 

Summary of Experience

  • 3+ years in Software Development/DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in languages such as Python, Bash, and Go.
  • 3+ years of hands-on cloud & hybrid networking experience with at least one of the leading public cloud platforms, AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Good experience using infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or CDK, and Azure Resource Manager.
  • Work with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to ensure consistent deployments.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deploying cloud applications.

 



US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.


BASE SALARY RANGES

• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º  $115,700 - $176,300 USD Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
