Position Title: Software Engineer III

Frostbite is EA’s state-of-the-art multi-platform game development engine. Our global team develops creative engine features and cutting-edge tools that let our game makers create stunning games. As a software engineer in the Frostbite Partner Experience team, you will report to the Senior Engineering Manager. You will be part of a diverse, distributed Frostbite Partner Experience team and collaborate with internal game teams using Frostbite and the rest of the Frostbite development organization. You will engage with game teams to implement improvements to their usage of the Frostbite engine, especially in the area of content workflows.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with the Technical Art Director to review game team usage of the Frostbite engine to identify areas for improvement.
  • You will partner with game team content creators and engineers to change their usage of the Frostbite engine or the engine itself to best meet their needs.
  • You will become experienced in and work across many areas of the Frostbite engine with the different needs of each game team.
  • You will help implement changes and act on behalf of Frostbite as the game teams’ technical liaison and trusted advisor.
  • You will work with the Frostbite Support Team to provide technical support to game teams.
  • You will collaborate with Frostbite and game teams based in different time zones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with C++ and C#
  • Experience debugging large-scale systems
  • Experience with efficient code and optimisation
  • Experience with game engines (i.e. Frostbite, Unreal, Unity, or internal engines)
  • Willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new technical and creative problems
  • Experience with current gaming platforms – PS5, PS4, XBSX, Xbox One, PC
  • Comfortable engaging and building relationships with multiple teams and individuals globally
