Come join us! We're hiring a Legal Counsel (m/f/d). This is a part time role (31 hours per week) within EA's Legal Team for a period of 12 months starting on 1 March 2024. You will report to EA's Senior Counsel at EA Germany in Cologne.

The position is based in our EA Germany office in Cologne and can also be offered on a hybrid work model of two days per week in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support to a team of attorneys, legal professionals, and business partners.
  • Provide expert advice with a focus on laws in relation to marketing, IP and copyright law as well as general civil law matters.
  • Provide guidance and support on a variety of legal matters, answer day-to-day legal queries and conduct legal research.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts such as marketing, service, cooperation and license agreements in close coordination with our business teams.
  • Support different internal departments such as Marketing, Localisation and build a close relationship with EA's business teams and its individual stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer (Volljurist – you must be qualified in German law) with solid experience in an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Practical experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Professional knowledge with a focus on consumer laws, marketing and general civil law.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage a variety of tasks.
  • Enjoy working in a passionate and matrixed organization.
  • Aspiration to work in the games industry.
  • Fluent in German and English.
