The Tiburon Technical Art Team helps EA SPORTS push visual boundaries and experiences for our players on our Madden NFL, College Football, and PGA Tour titles. We are a newly-formed entity consisting of over 30 developers who combine creativity and imagination with technical expertise and are the bridge between artists, engineers, and designers. We are a diverse group that encourages team members to bring their unique perspectives and expertise to work every day.
We are looking for a Development Director with experience leading large-scale technical projects to join a rare opportunity to build a foundational operational strategy for a dynamic technical team. You will report to the Supervising Director of Tiburon Technical Operations and oversee the development and operational aspects of the Tiburon Technical Art team.
Responsibilities:
- You will trailblaze fundamental operational strategy for the Tiburon Technical Art team throughout all projects and cross-project initiatives, in partnership with team leadership, in areas including establishing development framework, dependency capacity planning, and resource management, to deliver high-quality results on time and on budget.
- You will architect a formal, organized presence of Technical Art across Tiburon, forging the relationship structure with internal and external partner groups (including outsourcing) and business leaders, coordinating requirements, clarifying roles and accountability, defining strategy to meet milestones, formulating tech gate documentation and TFC structure, communicating project status updates, presenting in gates, and meeting business goals.
- You will orchestrate skills assessments, training/mentorship opportunities, relative performance discussions, hiring/onboarding processes, and team building activities to promote team member retention and success and foster an engaging, fulfilling, and fun work environment.
- You will manage team sprint planning, retrospectives, project schedules (roadmaps), backlogs, and 1-n lists and enforce best practices for task/bug filing (including templates and TDD usage), assignment, tracking (including Alpha support), and status update compliance.
- You will institute efficiencies that save costs and increase stability, promoting project indicators that track project quality, delivery, and predictability.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of technical project management or team leadership experience.
- Experience managing a large project with project management principles and practices.
- You can work on complex problems that require in-depth analysis and scenario planning
