At Ripple Effect, an evolution of Battlefield's DICE LA, we are building the AAA studio of tomorrow. Our Los Angeles-based game studio is dedicated to creating community-first experiences powered by cutting-edge technology and genre-defining innovation. We welcome artists of all levels and backgrounds to join us either in-studio or fully remote as we build the next great Battlefield experience.

Our Values: Transparency, and curiosity are of the utmost importance to us. The best artists are "forever students," and it's important that our devs grow in their crafts, discover new paths, and push one another toward mastery. We reach excellence through tireless iteration and we are looking for developers with diverse experiences who will enrich our studio's creativity.

The Role: As a 3D artist, you represent the foundation of our art enterprise. Along with our World Art team, you will bring our virtual worlds to life. We are looking for a 3D artist with a passion for making the digital realm just as real as the physical. You will craft photorealistic organic and hard surface structures complete with destruction under the guidance of our 3D Art Lead. This role will report to our Art Line Manager, based in our studio in Los Angeles, California.

Responsibilities:

  • Create strikingly realistic hard surface and organic models with destruction.
  • Create a variety of 3D models (architecture, foliage, props) from photo references and concept art.
  • Develop and document pipeline & workflow enhancements to ensure 3D asset cohesion.
  • Attend field trips to capture reference photography and scans (photogrammetry)
  • Refine art assets and help solve performance issues.
  • Collaborate with the World Art teams to bring the creative leadership's vision to life.

Skills We Look For:

  • Excellent technical ability with a deep understanding of Maya, ZBrush, Blender, or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Solid Houdini or procedural modeling software skills
  • Deep experience working with physically based rendering pipelines.
  • Experience with pushing asset fidelity and refining production techniques.
  • High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills.

Benefits

We are proud of the great perks we offer like comprehensive health and benefit packages, tuition reimbursement, 401k with company match, and of course, free video games. And since we realize it takes world-class people to make world-class games, we offer great benefits packages and a culture that values creativity and individuality.
