Position Title: Game Designer I

Please note - We have multiple positions open and are looking for talents within a range of experience Mid-level to Senior. These roles is primarily based in Stockholm, but can also be based remotely in Europe, or from any of our European offices.

We are DICE, the award-winning studio with locations in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, best known for creating the phenomenally successful Battlefield franchise.

 

We are now part of a set of global studios building a connected Battlefield universe, developing Battlefield's one-of-a-kind multiplayer suite, while also building a team to support our new Seattle-based studio, Ridgeline Games, who are leading the development of a single-player narrative campaign.

Role Summary:

As a Technical Designer working with the next Battlefield games persistence and engagement systems, your daily work will be guided by the Lead Designers and Producers who oversee the "Persistence and Progression team".You will be reporting to the Studio Technical Design Director and develop the technical aspects of adding persistence and gameplay hooks for our engagement team. Collaborating with designers and engineers, you will use our proprietary tool Frostbite to implement and refine gameplay systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to implement new persistence and engagement systems.

  • Create gameplay hooks and mechanics to track player actions, ensuring a compelling player experience.

  • Help review and provide feedback on new system designs proposed by the team.

  • Solve technical issues related to persistence and engagement systems.

  • Participate in playtests and feedback sessions to improve the player experience.

  • Define and track performance metrics and deliverables for persistence and engagement systems, ensuring successful implementation and enhancement of the player experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in visual scripting tools, such as Frostbite, Unreal Blueprints, or similar engines.

  • Experience in fast prototyping and iterations.

  • Ability to work with designers and engineers to implement and refine gameplay systems.

  • Understanding of game design principles and mechanics.

  • 3+ years of experience in gameplay and system designs and persistence.

  • Experience in the AAA games industry and shipping AAA games is a requirement.
