We are DICE, the award-winning studio with locations in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, best known for creating the phenomenally successful Battlefield franchise.
We are now part of a set of global studios building a connected Battlefield universe, developing Battlefield's one-of-a-kind multiplayer suite, while also building a team to support our new Seattle-based studio, Ridgeline Games, who are leading the development of a single-player narrative campaign. Our people are the backbone and driving force to our creative products, and are always looking for diverse game creators to join us in Stockholm, Gothenburg, or working remotely, to help us build the best Battlefield experiences and make our studio the best in the industry.
We are looking for a Senior Gameplay Engineer with a focus on Animation, General System and that will interface with AI. We need a person to navigate a huge codebase and complex problems. Delivering high quality solutions regarding feature requirements and performance.
You will work close to peer engineers, designers and animators. You know what good is when it comes to code and reviews and can mentor peer engineers on your team.
Creative freedom is a fundamental aspect at EA, you will lead the solutions and collaborate with Product Owners and other crafts to find out what is the best solution for our product and players.
You will join a talented team with a huge impact on the technology stack on the Battlefield Franchise.
You will report into a Technical Lead.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our distributed teams on the continued development of animation & gameplay features.
- Full end-to-end ownership of animation & gameplay features, including legacy features and new.
- Work with the designers and animators to build character behaviors and interactions.
- Experience working with character movement & animation in a First Person Shooter.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor other engineering team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Experience with physically driven & root motion animation systems.
- 5+ years of experience in C/C++ skills with the ability to write clear, maintainable, portable code.
- At least 1 shipped AAA title working as an Gameplay/Animation/Core/Physics Engineer.
- Excellent math skills with an emphasis on Linear Algebra.
- Experience with large code bases and optimizing code, data, and bandwidth to improve both memory consumption and execution speed.
- Console programming experience on a multiplayer FPS game.
