Tracktwenty is Electronic Arts mobile game studio based in the center of Helsinki. The studio brings SimCity BuildIt to tablet and mobile and the game has more than 200 million installs to date. SimCity BuildIt has been evolving and delighting our players for 9+ years and we have even bigger plans for it. Our passionate team of programmers, artists, designers, marketers, and analysts are working to deliver new awesome features and attract even more players.
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Software Engineer who will excel in an ever-evolving development environment. As a Software Engineer within the Tracktwenty Studio, you'll work as part of the experienced team on the development and technical design of SimCity BuildIt.
You will report to the Technical Director
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement quality C++ game code
- Work together with other disciplines such as artists and designers to bring concepts and ideas to life.
- Contribution to the technical design of individual games and participation in technical decisions for the technology used by SimCity BuildIt team
- Ensure scalability, reliability and maintainability for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Involvement in different parts of the game code, such as game logic, external API's, UI/UX, AI, graphics.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with C++
- 2+ years of experience developing games in C++
- Experience developing and shipping games for smartphones and tablets (iOS/Android)
- Experience across different domains, e.g. graphics, gameplay, UI, animation A natural feeling for and understanding of gameplay mechanics
- Capability to implement quality solutions to deadline Hunger for learning and knowledge, including sharing with others
- Proactivity in finding solutions and improvements to existing issues
- A love for games
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with engine development or game development with inhouse engines
- Experience in 3D programming using OpenGL or knowledge in shader languages
- Experience developing iOS or Android platform code
- Experience in scripting languages, such as LUA or Python
