Tracktwenty is an Electronic Arts mobile game studio based in the centre of Helsinki. We're the studio brought SimCity BuildIt, a game with more than 200 million installs to date, to tablet and mobile. As well as growing SimCity BuildIt, the studio's passionate team of programmers, artists, designers, marketers and analysts are working to create the next big hit to come out of Finland for EA Mobile.

The Opportunity Ahead

We are looking for a Game Designer to join the SimCity BuildIt team. You will work as a member of the game's design team in Helsinki, reporting to the project's Creative Director. Your responsibilities will be to improve and add depth to the game's economy, through incremental changes and feature expansion. As a designer you will excel if you enjoy the builder genre, economy, feature and system design. You care for players and want to be part of a team whose goal is to create extraordinary experiences.

What a Game Designer does at Track Twenty:

  • You will work on the game's economy and balance, partnering with Product Management
  • Collaborate on game's overall direction, system and features designs and content development
  • You will also contribute to feature and content development in supporting the live service roadmap.
  • Define changes to the game's economy, features and content
  • Use data from several sources to propose concept and pitch plans that could improve the games measurements and improve player experience

A Game Designer also needs:

  • Passion for playing and making mobile games and an excellent understanding of what makes them fun
  • Excellent knowledge with free-to-play mobile game design
  • Knowledgeable working with complex, in-game economies
  • Exposure to popular mobile games and the design mechanics that work well within them
  • The skills to work with event-driven gameplay and design with rapid prototyping and data-driven design
  • Past experience in game economy modeling (currency/feature balancing)
