The Marcom Cinematics group at EA is a content production team that partners with EA Studio's game teams, to produce the highest quality marketing assets, trailers and commercials. We are a collective group of Animators, Artists, Designers, Directors, Lighters, Producers, Screenshot and Capture Artists. Worldwide, we combine to form a global group of extraordinary individuals, fueled by imagination and a unified experience creating amazing, next‐gen visuals. We are a diverse team that is unified through collaboration, culture and craft.

As a Cinematic Artist, Lighter you will be a part of our Global Cinematics team. You will work with a team of creative artists and editors to help create our outstanding trailers that we use to market our games. We support all of EA's games and studios. So the work is very varied. You will work in Vancouver, but we support a flexible work model. You will report to the Senior Producer. Your background can be from film/TV VFX work or AAA Games Cinematics production. This role will be based in EA's Vancouver, Canada office with hybrid work model possibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Create world class assets on time and on brief
  • Build lighting environments in engine for cinematic features
  • Work with tech team to implement renders and improve pipeline workflow
  • Collaborate with team members to produce highest quality visual target
  • Manage short- and long-term creative goals
  • Complete cinematic game trailers for EA's large gaming portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Solid eye for composition and cinematography
  • Experience in a game engine environment (Bonus if experience includes pre-rendered assets from engine)
  • Comfortable working within Sequence (Unreal) or Timeline (Frostbite)
  • Can showcase good composition and lighting, for example could be photography or painting
  • Knowledge of cinematic language and camera direction
  • Interest in filmmaking and cameras
  • Solution focused and supportive of team partnerships
  • 1+ years of experience with Real-Time graphics
  • Bonus skills include:
    • Shader design and Look Development knowledge
    • FX creation or animation skills
    • Coding: python, C++
