Position Title: Advanced Analyst

External Description:

We are looking for a Data Governance Analyst to lead analytics, training and communications efforts for the Enterprise Data Governance organization. Program insights, catalog onboarding, data governance communications, light training and consulting with partners will be the top priorities of this role.

The Data Governance Analyst will be reporting to the Head of Data Governance and will provide insight into the value of our governance program and effectiveness of adoption of data governance processes. You will partner with the Manager, Data management as well as various teams representing Product, Data Engineering, Analytics, Platform, Infrastructure, Compliance, Legal, Audit, and departmental data governance teams across EA. You will work with a team of accomplished data professionals to help enhance existing data governance successes, build insightful data visualizations and provide support to those adopting, or looking to adopt data governance. Job Responsibilities

  • Assist us in developing communication strategy for data governance including education, issue awareness, data quality successes, regulatory updates and policy.
  • Gather and document report and dashboard requirements needed to demonstrate success of the data governance program.
  • Data governance and stewardship support, including data quality, data lineage, and data change management
  • Organize meetings with partners to implement program guidance under the direction of the Head of Data Governance and Manager, Data Management
  • Partner with data quality teams to improve accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data required for decision-making across the enterprise by helping us to develop quality rules in data code.
  • Monitor for compliance risks, audit deficiencies, and coverage of the Data Governance program and provide reports to help to improve adoption and compliance.
  • Coordinate with other teams based on the outcomes of assessments to allow partners to achieve the appropriate level of governance.
  • Document and implement current workflows, data policies, standards, and procedures for both legacy and new data environments.
  • Help curate existing data dictionaries and catalogs based on partner requirements from multiple platforms, including products such as confluence.
  • Create data quality reports, identify data collection issues, suggest improvements.
  • Manage the partner communications to ensure all data consumers are aware of our data governance strategy.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required in information science, data management, computer science or related field.
  • Experience working with metadata and/or cataloging
  • Experience with Data Governance concepts like data catalog, lineage, data quality and policies.
  • Experience in documenting data requirements, data strategy and data rules (standardization, cleanse, and validation)
  • Minimum two years of experience in the technology industry, knowledge of data and product.
  • Familiar with data platforms such as Snowflake, Looker, Airflow and cloud providers like AWS and Google
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in defining and implementing data governance best practices, documenting data flow & process mapping, or a data steward responsible for the metadata management, data quality, Measurements, etc.
  • Experience working with regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Minimum 2 years of experience querying databases for analysis.
