Electronic Arts' Firemonkeys Studio in Melbourne, Australia is highly regarded throughout the industry as a leading mobile game studio. We release new meaningful updates on a regular basis for games such as Real Racing 3, The Sims FreePlay, Need for Speed, and The Sims Mobile.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Analyst (Data Scientist) to join our Studio Data and Insights group (SDI). SDI brings quantitative and qualitative insights to the entire company through data science and analytics. As the Studio Analytics team within SDI, we work with our studio partners to promote data-driven decisions whilst also building AI and machine learning solutions for our game titles. We deploy models, run simulations, administer experiments, engage on advanced analytics research and help train game developers who use our data science and analytic solutions.

You will report to the Senior Analytics Manager where your expertise in applied machine learning will help guide important decisions in a cross-functional environment. You are a force multiplier for the team, a master of data science methodology and solutions development who understand the iterative nature of data science and how to work with partners to integrate machine learning projects into game systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Build models and modern algorithms to analyse diverse sources of data
  • Use big data technologies to bring predictive models to millions of players
  • Provide business-driving data science projects
  • Develop tools and libraries for the broader analytics group
  • Build self-service dashboards and reports to help game teams make data-driven decisions
  • Communicate applicable results and findings derived from data throughout the organisation in a meaningful way
  • Collaborate with other areas of the business on long-term projectsImplement and share new methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other related discipline
  • 3+ years relevant professional experience or postgraduate qualification (Master's/Ph.D.)
  • Proficient in both SQL and Python
  • Experience building ML models for applications including: recommendation systems, segmentation and forecasting
  • Experience with one or more cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with one or more BI tools (i.e. Looker, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Eager to use data for insights and has a demonstrated passion for applying data science to make business important decisions and recommendations
  • Hypothesis driven – uses data to test ideas rigorously and objectively
