Senior Technical Product Manager - Frostbite Characters

Do you want to shape industry leading, cutting edge character technology? Do you want to work on an engine that ships a stable of AAA games? If the answer is yes, then come join Frostbite Characters. Reporting to a director of product management, you will oversee Characters technologies in and around the Frostbite engine. You will be a key part of a domain leadership team, driving the future of Characters. You will drive runtime customization technology to make characters more personalized. You will drive next generation deformation technology to achieve realistic visual quality. You will work with our amazing content creator community to enable new workflows. Key responsibilities

  • Work with EA's game teams, the Frostbite engineering team, and other EA central teams to prioritize investment in 3 key areas: Runtime Character Customization, Rigging and Deformation, and Character Workflows.
  • Analyze EA's competitive landscape, including the competition space of our game teams, as well as technology competitors.
  • Develop the long-term vision and roadmap for characters in Frostbite, balancing investment between game team strategies, market trends, and your own team' insight.
  • Inspire Frostbite's user community, game team partners, and senior EA leaders, through communication of your vision and strategy.
  • Align a shared vision across a senior stakeholder group of Characters experts.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in game technology, having shipped at least 1 AAA game in a content, production, or technical capacity.
  • Collaborative leader who enjoys working in an iterative environment.
  • Ability to formulate a wide array of user requirements into a product plan.
  • Comfortable driving engineering teams to deliver on technical products.
  • Experience working with technical, creative, and business stakeholders.
  • Expertise in at least one of: rigging, deformation, customizations, character pipelines, rendering, or animation technologies.

Nice to Haves

  • Passion for public speaking and presentations.
  • Experience with commercial or proprietary game engines.
  • Knowledge of general product management practices.
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
