Senior Storyboard Artist - Ridgeline Games

Ridgeline Games is focused on building rich narrative campaigns with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe. We are building a new studio in the Seattle area composed of leaders and talent with a vast array of AAA game dev experience. As we assemble our diverse team, all who have a voice in making great games together, we're looking for a healthy mixture of tempered veterans and young passionate individuals eager to make a difference.

 

Role Overview:

As a Storyboard Artist, you will be at the tip of the spear as you visualize our dynamic action scenes. Working with the Cinematics Director, you'll create 3D and hybrid animated boards that will be invaluable to the narrative, cinematics, animation, and design teams.

You are imaginative, open, and have experience with the shooter-genre, we need you to help us achieve a memorable Battlefield experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Cinematics Director to quickly create storyboards for cinematics and gameplay moments.
  • Explore interesting storytelling opportunities to promote the narrative throughout the game.
  • Help define emotional scenes that will resonate with audiences.
  • Work with the Cinematics Director to help maintain cinematic pillars.
  • Manage storyboard documents.
  • Provide high quality illustrated work for production that delivers on the creative strategy.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in 2D and 3D storyboarding techniques.
  • Demonstrate creativity in developing storyboards under the guidance of the narrative, art, and design leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience in visual development; world building, characters development, vehicles & weapons for games, film, or animation.
  • Knowledgeable in areas such as motion graphics, illustration, animation, or 2D & 3D /CG production.
  • Experience with traditional filmmaking and cinematography, including screen direction, lenses, and lighting.
  • Solid understanding of anatomy and figure movement
  • Can provide work examples of a photo-realistic, grounded style.
  • Experience communicating about projects and workflow.
  • Persistent self-education around innovations in marketing creative.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThe base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.BASE SALARY RANGES • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $108,700 - $166,550 • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): º $107,450 - $166,550 • Jersey City, NJ : º $107,450 - $166,550 • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): º $107,450 - $153,250 • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): º $107,450 - $153,250Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
