We are looking for an accomplished Senior Software Engineer with a passion for innovative and engaging experiences to help us realize our vision of player-driven narrative in a AAA open world action RPG. Your primary role will be to work closely with our design team and author robust and flexible systems in support of our dynamic narrative gameplay goals. You will have the support of both a lead for technical guidance and a manager to ensure professional growth and well-being. And as a core member of our highly collaborative team, your influence will span as much of our codebase and design as your skills and interests dictate. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with partners across the team to develop the interconnected systems that will drive our procedural relationships and stories 
    • Partner with a mix of technical and less technical team members to establish requirements
    • Design, author, refine and maintain your systems to meet all functional, technical, and schedule requirements
    • Work with QA and technical leadership to ensure stability and robustness of your systems
  • Help grow your knowledge and skills and that of those around you by working closely with your peers through impromptu conversations, technical discussions and code reviews
  • Be supportive of those around you and open to both proposing and exploring new ideas, technologies and practices

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional C/C++ experience
  • Experience shipping complex gameplay systems (RPG systems, world state and narrative systems)
  • Eager collaborator with both engineers and content creators
  • Passion for excellence in both your individual contributions and the quality of the game
  • Appreciation for robust, maintainable, easily readable code

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range for your specific location.

EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $143,150 - $221,750
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $130,600 - $221,750
• Jersey City, NJ :
º $130,600 - $221,750
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $130,600 - $181,850
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $130,600 - $210,000

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
