Position Title: DD II

Development Directors are accountable for the project by tracking and solving blockers, work estimates and planning, along with scope capacity and schedule management. Development Directors play a vital role in successfully moving the development team from one milestone to the next while ensuring a strong focus on quality, collaboration and communication. They must partner closely with production pillar leads, product owners, producers, designers, engineers, and outsource partners. This includes within the studio and all over the country to ensure that they are managing the project on time, to quality, and within budget for the various teams we work with. The Development Director coordinates a variety of disciplines - art, design, engineering, quality assurance and outsource partners. This role oversees the vital success in building Battlefield Mobile and will need to coordinate efforts and balance the priorities for multiple disciplines.

POSITION SPECIFIC:

    • Accountable forTracking and solving blockers
    • Work estimates and planning
    • Scope capacity & Schedule Management
    • Teams are working towards sprint priorities
  • Maintain studio's established scrum ceremonies and handle all prep-work to make those ceremonies successful
  • Work collaboratively with Pillar Leads and Product Owners to establish backlog priorities
  • Work with other pods to ensure that features cross pods are scheduled
  • Coordinates outsource partners as needed
  • Anticipate risks, identify mitigation strategies, and communicate both across the studio
  • Coordinate efforts with external teams in the greater EA organization and external vendors
  • Ensure that team commitments are delivered on time and at the required quality level
  • Ensure that teams are operating in a manner consistent with established protocols
  • Educate and coach teams in the what/how and why of scrum, agile, Jira, and Confluence
  • Coach junior project managers
  • Ensure Jira and Confluence are up-to-date and consistently reflect the current status of the project
  • Report project metrics to Lead Development Director
  • Identify areas where the current process is not optimal and recommend improvements
  • Lead high performing scrum teams with strong cultures of trust and collaboration
  • Communicate and track cross-team dependencies
  • Quickly and effectively identify and resolve conflict
  • Strong communicator, mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to think outside the box in a challenging and ambiguous environment

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years project management experience, including 1-3 shipped titles in a project management role
  • Gaming & Mobile experience is an asset
  • Experience managing teams in a scrum/agile context, comfortable with a hybrid scrum environment
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Strong negotiation, mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Deep knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, MIRO and the G-Suite
  • Strong aptitude for change, accompanied with change management skills, including getting buy in from the teams worked on

º $130,600 - $221,750
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $130,600 - $181,850
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $130,600 - $210,000

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
