Environment Concept Artist Intern (Apex Legends)

We're looking for an Environment Concept Art Intern to join the Apex Legends team. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in the summer of 2023 and are slated to graduate in Fall of 2023 or Spring of 2024.

 

What You'll Do…

• Attend Kick off meetings and Reviews to learn what tasks will be done as well as their requirements
• Prepare Mood boards to align the team on ideas for each concept task
• Iterate through ideas with Rough sketch concepts showing 3-5 variants
• Pitch ideas to team with supporting ref
• Take feedback from the AD's and Leads to improve the quality of your work
• Refine selected sketch to final (2D and 3D depending on task)

Required Qualifications...

• Currently enrolled in a college, university degree program
• Available to work full-time hours for 12 weeks remotely in the summer of 2023
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Understanding of Photoshop and a 3D software
• Motivated to learn from others and embrace a team effort that is based on mutual respect
• Openly receptive to feedback

Provide a link to an online presentation, or attach documents to your resume to showcase your work.

Please apply with as many examples of the following:

• A clear understanding of perspective and realistic color/lighting properties
• Process Iteration sketches or comps
• Show source reference used
• Design work that shows strong base forms composed of simple shapes, and functional elements for believability
• Legibility (clear construction that an environment artist could easily build)
• Polish concepts that reflect a clear understanding of color/lighting as well as surface materials

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the hourly pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES

• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):

º $19 - $48

• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):

º $17 - $23

• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):

º $22 - $48

• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

The hourly pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k). Interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance.
