Position Title: Sr Game Designer

External Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Game Designer to help build a Single-Player FPS in the Apex Universe. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in game design with an interest in AI and Combat Design. They should have strong technical and scripting abilities and an interest in getting involved early in a project and help drive it to success.

What You’ll Do…

  • Have a direct hand in shaping a new game from the ground up. The project is in its early stages and you will take ownership of substantial ideas and features from blue-sky conceptualization to shipped game.
  • Design and implement gameplay systems, AI designs, player abilities, mechanics, and other components.
  • Realize these features utilizing your technical, scripting, and creative skills across multiple development tools.
  • Validate your gameplay hypotheses through rapid prototyping and team feedback.
  • Work with other departments to agree on vision and acquire assets for a cohesive experience.
  • Support and grow your teammates through knowledge-sharing, debugging assistance, training, and technical documentation where necessary.
  • Develop and advocate best practices to the content team and create long-term plans for content and system implementations.

Ideally, you will have...

  • 5+ years professional experience as a Game Designer.
  • Experience with AI and Combat Design
  • Fluency in one or more text-based scripting or programming languages.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to self-schedule and drive features with support from design and code leadership.
  • Experience in rapid prototyping and iterative design.
