Responsibilities

• Extend the functionalities of our scripting language
• Optimize low-level instruction set from our scripting Virtual Machine
• Gather feedback and request from the scripting team, advocate for best practices
• Improve the scripting debugger
• Build positive relationships with partner teams and disciplines across Respawn

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Squirrel scripting VM or any scripting language VM
• Notion on how a compiler tool-chain works
• Able to communicate and collaborate with developers of all technical skill levels and disciplines
• Some working experience (1-3 Years) working on games writing performant C++ code

Pluses

• CS Degree Preferred
• Experience with Optimization tools and techniques
• Knowledge of IntelliJ plugin system
• Scripting experience (Squirrel Scripting / LUA)
• Experience working with Virtual Machines / Compiler toolchains
• Passionate about Apex Legends
