Position Title: Manager, Analytics

External Description:

We are looking for a Manager of Analytics to help develop and guide our analytics team supporting ARPG studios. You are versatile, proactive, and technical. You have an analytical background in gaming or digital products, are able to find relevant insights from massive volumes of data, and have experience directing the creation of data products that provide value and the implementation of foundational data architecture that makes such work possible. You must also be a demonstrated leader, passionate about building a high performing analytics team, and able to work with leadership to maximize that team's impact.

Reporting to a Sr Manager of Studio Analytics, you'll join a group of experienced analysts and data scientists as a member of the embedded-and-dedicated Studios Data and Insights (SDI) team. Partnering closely with other research disciplines, such as Consumer Insights and User Experience, you will share findings with a wide range of enthusiastic industry craftspeople representing Product Management, Game Design, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and more. As part of working with a diverse group of partners, you will gain exposure to, and have the opportunity to influence, different perspectives inside the gaming industry across multiple studios.

Responsibilities

  • Lay Foundations: Use knowledge of games analytics best practices to inform early data infrastructure, telemetry implementation, data technology, and KPI development decisions. 
  • Analyze: Through data analysis, find and advocate for new opportunities to improve the player experience, improve acquisition, engagement, and monetization.
  • Team-Build: Hire and manage analysts and data scientists. Oversee deliverables and advise on methodology. Lead peer reviews.
  • Teach: Play an important role in our data democratization and education effort. Prioritize self-serve solutions. Teach power users how to use dashboards and access data. Help those who are less familiar understand the right questions to ask, and how they can better use data to inform their decision-making. Encourage all partners to adopt hypothesis-driven thinking.
  • Innovate: Oversee the ideation, design, planning, and delivery of innovative data products in areas such as Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, etc.
  • Experiment: Serve as a go-to expert for quantitative methodology, implementation and application, including experiments such as A/B and multivariate tests, and other causal inference methods.
  • Drive Change: Influence decisions and product strategy through fact-based, data-driven insights.

Required Experience

  • 4+ years' experience in quantitative analysis and partner management for a gaming or digital products company
  • Experience teaching/mentoring/coaching/managing other data professionals
  • Expert level SQL
  • A foundation in a quantitative field; deep statistical knowledge including an understanding of probability, correlation, regression, classification, ML modeling, forecasting, etc. 
  • Experience using Python or R to conduct analysis and build models
  • Experience with data visualization packages/libraries/software like R-Shiny, GGplot, Looker, Tableau
  • Ability to translate business problems and constraints into analysis plans with clearly defined deliverables and ownership
  • Superb ability to distill complex analytical topics into compelling presentations and data stories for nontechnical groups and executives
  • A team-player who can maintain close collaborations with co-workers and partners
