Lead UX Researcher

The EA Digital Platform (EADP) group provides central services that help game teams to tap into the power of the global EA ecosystem. Compatible across multiple platforms and devices, our platform empowers teams to foster deeper, more meaningful relationships with our players. The EADP is the foundation on which EA's games are built. By providing reusable capabilities that game teams can easily integrate into their games, we allow them to focus on making incredible games. These building blocks are made up of high-level service platforms including Commerce & Identity, Data and AI, Gameplay Services, Social & Marketplace, and Player & Developer Experience.

Description

As a Lead UX Researcher on the EADP group, you will report to the Manager of Experience Design where you'll help to envision digital experiences for game studio teams.

Responsibilities

  • Connect user research with products related to game creation, while being an amplifier for relevant insights by working across the organization (Experience Design, Engineering, and Product Management)
  • Create and optimize research processes to enable Design team to deliver best-in-class experiences
  • Be an expert at matching research insights and their delivery mechanisms with priorities and strategic product initiatives
  • Work with the Design team, creating user scenarios, concept sketches, experience storyboards, high fidelity designs, and rapid prototypes
  • Work with product managers, designers, engineers, researchers, and external partners to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms
  • Work behind the scenes to identify and remove potential roadblocks
  • Participate in sharing constructive feedback in design reviews based on your own insight

Requirements

  • Collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, surveys, benchmark studies, and online experiments
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other Researchers to prioritize research opportunities
  • Experience shaping content for diverse projects
  • Skilled at framing problems and scoping research approaches.
  • Expert at questionnaire design, survey programming, data analysis, and translating complex questions into efficient and focused inquiries
  • Experience analyzing end-to-end product development from initial product strategy to post-launch iteration
  • Understand modern experience design methodology
  • Experience in Agile Scrum Methodology work processes
  • Familiarity with a variety of product design software, spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets), and customer research tools
  • Diverse B2B/B2C portfolio (5+ years) that reflect research and design excellence

Bonus

  • Experience in, or understanding of, games, game development, and game tooling like Unity, Unreal, or other tools
