Position Title: Sr Software Engineer I

External Description:

Our Studios Technology Group (STG) powers EA's premiere Studios to create even greater player experiences. We help shape the future from the way games are created to how they are played and viewed.

You will focus on our initiative to improve in the game engine space and help shape the long term technical vision of Unreal Engine use at EA. Being the main contact for technical challenges, you will partner with teams across the globe to provide the very best experiences for our players. You will also offer guidance on best practices, maintaining a knowledge repository and managing code divergence.

Responsibilities

  • Foster working relationships with multiple teams across EA.
  • Provide guidance on project configuration/structure.
  • Mentor developers on best usage of the technology and good engineering practices.
  • Investigate upcoming engine features and provide guidance to teams on how best to use them.
  • Contribute to an Unreal Engine knowledge base.
  • Develop solutions to common developer workflow or runtime performance issues.
  • Maintain an overview of code divergence across all teams.
  • Maintain a shared development stream.

 

Qualifications

  • 4+ years Unreal Engine experience.
  • Experience in C++.
  • Proficient in any source control, debuggers, profilers and other software development tools (e.g. Perforce, Git, Visual Studio, RenderDoc).
  • Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education or experience.
