Position Title: Advanced Analyst

External Description:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Data Analyst to drive the capabilities roadmap that supports EA’s Studios, Data and Insights organization. This role will be important in revolutionizing how teams use data to make decisions, using both advanced analytics and algorithmic insights. This role is highly collaborative and you will need to work closely with central teams, as well as key analytics partners to drive success and growth in EA’s data culture.

As an Advanced Data Analyst you will focus on mining and cleaning data from primary and secondary sources then analyze and interpret results using standard statistical tools and techniques. You will pinpoint trends, correlations and patterns in complex data sets and identify new opportunities to help us conduct process improvement and make decisions. You will use your skills to navigate ambiguous problems, determine causes and constraints, translate qualitative/quantitative data into applicable insight, and create recommendations to steer strategy. You will report to the Director of Analytics, Strategic Enablement.

What you will do as an Advanced Data Analyst at EA:

  • You will prepare detailed reports and presentations that help your team identify essential areas of opportunity and insight to guide future design
  • You will guide, influence, and lead the development of new techniques within data analysis
  • You will evaluate to find risks and opportunities, relaying them to the team and management
  • You will connect with multiple data providers and customers in the organization, specifically in the development of data requests, checking of data received and following up on data issues
  • You will conduct analysis using SQL and other database tools
  • You will drive best practices in tools and visual technologies to help evolve the project dashboards to provide essential data for project monitoring
  • You will help us develop data solutions to support us in our organization’s data transformation
  • You will develop scripts and queries to import and manipulate clean data from multiple sources.
  • You will be a champion for data quality and be an advocate for data governance
  • You will mentor other Data Analysts from a technical perspective
  • You will approach analyses with structured and strategic thinking anchored in partners’ needs to create a well thought out plan

The next great Advanced Data Analyst needs:

  • 6+ years of professional analytical experience, using data to improve decisions
  • A masters degree or Ph.D. in a technical field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, mathematics, engineering, or economics)
  • Programming and database experience with advanced SQL experience and of other languages such as C#, JavaScript, Python, R and PHP
  • Development of machine learning models
  • Experience applying quantitative/statistical methods to produce insights from data
  • Knowledge and prior business application of quantitative methodologies such as regression modelling, decision trees, cluster analysis, factor analysis, conjoint analysis
  • Experience with data visualization software packages, e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau
  • Experience presenting technical findings to audiences with varying background
  • An enthusiasm for creating solutions involving all team members
  • Relationship development skills with partners, support teams and management
